The Boston Herald’s Michael Graham says Massachusetts conservatives are thrilled to see Scott Brown fleeing to the Granite State:
Their logic is simple: The only reason to support a liberal, pro-abortion, pro-gun-control Republican is if he can win. Selling out your principles and losing is just plain dumb.
The point of supporting a Scott Brown Senate candidacy isn’t for his principles or political philosophy (if you can find the latter, please report it to the GOP Lost and Found Dept). It’s all about the winning. And since he can’t win here, maybe he can win in New Hampshire.
What I can’t figure out is why a state with an active, competitive GOP needs a draft pick from a state like Massachusetts.
