GOP Primary Voters Repudiate Extreme Agenda
In another special election repudiation of the New Hampshire GOP’s extreme agenda, firefighter Kevin Janvrin beat Lou Gargiulo and three other candidates in the Republican party primary for the vacant Rockingham District 14 state House seat.
Janvrin had called the “extremism happening in Concord” one of the biggest issues facing the state. He declared, “I do not believe that the current polarizing tones in the State House is any way to get things done,” and condemned the GOP House leadership’s agenda as “divisive social issues that out-of-state interest are bringing to New Hampshire.”
Gargiulo, a two-term former state Rep, had the backing of the state’s GOP establishment with endorsements from former Gov. John H. Sununu, Congressman Frank Guinta, Executive Councilor Chris Sununu, state Sen. Nancy Stiles, 2010 GOP gubernatorial nominee John Stephen and 2010 GOP senatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne.
Posting on House Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt’s Facebook page, Gargiulo supporters pilloried Janvrin and vowed to support Libertarian Brendan Kelly in the general election.
State Rep. Fred Leonard:
this guy is poison and we should turn our backs on him…you support a guy just because he has an r next to his name?…that’s the ultimate in stupidity when he spits in the face of the GOP with his own words and you say we should elect him…friggin JOKE!!!
Former state Rep. Gary Wheaton:
I assure you all, Janvrin is not a republican in anyway… he was put up by the local government workers to help kill RTW specifically, all but $50 of his substantial donations were from unions and yes they even created a fake “Tax Payer” PAC addressed in Seabrook, to me, this is a real integrity issue but what do I know about that right…
